Re: Meaning of the name Ketevan?
in reply to a message by Ylva
I found a hint:"A large number of Persian names came into Georgian from the versions of the Šâh-nâma: Givi (< Gêv); Goderdz-i (< Gôdarz); Zurab-i (< Sohrâb); Ketevan (< Katâyûn); Zaal (< Zâl; cf. the family name Zaldastanishvili), etc."http://www.cais-soas.com/CAIS/Culture/iranian_elements_georgian.htm

Thank you, but what does Katayun mean?Ketevan may come from the Persian Katayun but then I don't know what Katayun means."But it’s all right now.
I learned my lesson well.
You see you can’t please everyone
So you got to please yourself."

According to Muslim & Parsi Names by Maneka Gandhi & Ozair Husain, Katayun meant "learned."
