yes this is my name. I have only been able to find one other person with my name and she is named after me. My mother says she made it up but it makes too much sense to be a made up name. The y is silent so it is just pronounced Son Tane. Do you have any insite or are you just curious?

I just wasn't sure. I'd go with Cleveland Kent Evans suggestion - if your mom says she made it up then she probably did make it up. CKE is a name professor, I think he'd recognize it if it were a name.

What do you mean "it makes too much sense to be a made up name"? What "sense" do you see in it?
If I were you I would believe your mother; she created this name herself as a gift to you. If it happens to be spelled or pronounced the same as a word or name in another language, that's probably pure coincidence.
