Re: Anyone know Italian/Greek???

As far as I know, Desdemona means "of the demons" or "of the devil". It is a name of Latin derivation, composed of two parts:Des - equivalent of the Italian "del", English "of"
Demona - Latin for "demon" or "devil"Hope this helps!Giorgio

Very close, Giorgio, but no Partagas!
Desdemona -- elegantly interpreted as "ill-starred one" by Nan -- is derived from the Greek words:
Des - "ill", and
Demon - "spirit"
