The Greek name Pelagia

How is Pelagia pronounced in Greek and in English? There is no pronunciation in the database.

My instinct would be to say Peh-LAH-gee-ah (with a hard G) but maybe it is Peh-lah-GEE-ah or something else.

Also, is this a common or uncommon name in Greece?

In Ancient Greek was Peh-lah-GEE-ah (with a hard G), in modern Greek is Peh-lah-YEE-ah.

The name is still in use in Greek, however it is uncommon.

"Until the day that an ancient inscription is found with the name "Alexandrovski" (or "Alexandrev" or "Alexandrov") written on it instead of "ALEXANDROS", true Macedonia and true Macedonians will remain Greek, as they always were."

I could do it myself but information from a Greek sounds more reliable.

i dot know the real way, but at first sight, i pronounce it the same as you
