What is the correct pronunciation of the name Kala?Are the Sanskrit version and the Hawaiian version pronounced the same way?And is the Finnish word Kala meaning "Fish" also pronounced the same?

In Hawaiian it's KAH-lah. I don't know the others, sorry.

Sanskrit kalA means art, kAla means time/eons/death. The A is long as in art, the a is short as in about. There are also related words meaning black; and the pronounciation is somewhat different in the various modern Indian languages.

Not sure if this is true of Finnish, but in English, think of the word "little". The two ls make different sounds, the first one being a "light l" and the second a "dark l" ... or I suppose a thick one.My impression is that there's only one option in French - the light l. But I could be seriously wrong!
