Rhadamanthus is etymologically related to the Greek words:"rhadamos": sprout or branch,and,"anthos": blossom or flower.It is interesting to note that the flower rose is also related etymologically to "rhodamos".

PSI would also like to point out that offshoots (pun not intended) of "rhadamos," such as "rhadinos," mean "willowy, lithe, lissome." This would give an extra metaphorical dimension to the name Rhadamanthys.
