Still Searching Myee
I'd really be interested to know the origin of Myee too. Its my Husband's grandmothers name but no one in the family seems to know where it came from.

Myee is an name from the Aboriginals. It is a firstname but also a placename. The meaning is 'nature' or 'native born'.

Correcting a major misconception . . .I realise that no names database on the web recognises this but there is no such thing as an Aboriginal name, per se. The Australian Aboriginal people were more diverse in language and customs than Europe, speaking hundreds of different languages (not just dialects, but actual languages). The names that are called "Aboriginal" on the web are from a variety of different linguistic and cultural sources. From my research, Myee appears to come from a language in the Sydney area, but no-one knows for sure which one. The meaning may be correct however I would not take it as a definite fact.

Thank you, I suspected that it was an aboriginal word as it only appears in Australian name lists. Thanks for your help Menke
