I'm on a little binge of just posting under random names for some reason (Arnulph, Laika, Dennis Ovell, etc.).
But I haven't been here a lot; chalk it up to random health issues (me and both my parents, mostly all better now), plus very busy with work and some other outside interests (even working on setting up a personal webpage). As things calm down I'll try to show up more often.

A webpage?
Cool! Are you doing it from scratch, or using one of those fancy webpage-maker software packages? John set up his own webpage recently, and found it more practical to do it all from scratch actually. I'll have to ask him which book he used to teach himself how to do it.

Yep, that's our Princess Kali (Goddess of destruction), all right! John had to write what she was actually doing, coz some people wrote to him asking: "Why do you have a picture on your webpage of one of your dogs pooping?"

Laugh and you won't see them coming...
The pups on John's page stirred a recent memory. I rushed out to the backyard, looked down the hill to the deck behind the nearest house, and...YES!! It's a Minpin, looking like an innocent (Che) fruitbat with its huge ears!! A little piece of Suffolk County, right here in Kintuckie! Ah, bliss...

Minpins are more popular these days than they were in past years, so I'm not surprised you're spottin' 'em more easily than hummingbirds in yo' neck o' da woods. According to the American Kennel Club's registration statistics, the miniature pinscher is now listed in the #17 position of popularity for registered purebred dogs.
These statistics are unfortunate for the breed, of course. It means that there are an awful lot of minpins out there who are being bred by people who don't know what they're doing, or who are being given up by owners who didn't first research the temperament and needs of the breed before purchasing a puppy.
It keeps breed rescue volunteers such as myself pretty busy. In fact, I'm taking a drive out to the Bronx this Sunday to check out a potential home for a little foster I've got right now. If you still have the link to the IMPS homepage, you'll see a pic of my latest little foster there. :)

I've known branch-tearers; branch-tearers have been friends of mine; and Madam, your dog is NO branch-tearer!! Altho she appears to be ripping off something else...
I like John's page. I like his short story. I even like your dogs. But "came to marry you in 1981"? 20 years ago? PUH-LEEZE!! We've seen your picture elsewhere, Nan. What were you in 1981, 13?
The webpage is in its infancy. Being one who's hopelessly lost in anything tougher than Excel, I've prevailed on my dear sis, a software engineer and website designer for an obscure division of IBM, to take a shot at it. Bets are that I'll end up doing it meself. She means well but doesn't have a good track record on finishing PERSONAL projects...
John, however, has proved to be an inspiration. Now all I gotta do to have a good personal page is lay it out and write 100 books... : )
(Incidentally, having seen a coupla his books in a local store, I entered his name in the Barnes and Noble site to see what they carried. Computer came back with over 130 entries, including collaborations and different editions!!) Does this guy ever come up for air?

****** Thanks for the flattery, Da. :) Although I was a bit older than 13 when I married (this is New York, ya know, not Kintuckie!), I will admit to having not been too long out of high school and an undergrad at college. So, by rough calculations, this *probably* places me only a few years younger than you, and just a few years older than Pavlos. :)

I got my B.A. from a picturesque college here on Long Island which started out as a 19th century mansion owned by the Vanderbilt family, which then passed into the hands of gangster Dutch Schultz during the Prohibition Era, and which later (for a brief period) was owned by a cult calling themselves "The Royal Fraternity of Master Metaphysicians". Would you have expected me to go anywhere else?
I got my M.S. from the less historically colorful Long Island University.

Maharishi East, huh? Cool. I went to Ahia State (The Big Farm) for both bachelors and masters. Only took ten years, with various interruptions.
