1. I don't think so, or at least I've never noticed myself doing that.

2. Well technically the word gay already changed meanings...people rarely see it as synonymous with 'happy' nowadays. I used to think that the definition of gay meaning homosexual, was changing and evolving to mean lame, and I honestly didn't see a problem with it. Most of the people I knew who used the word gay in a negative context weren't homophobic at all and there was no correlation between what they were describing, and homosexuality. I kind of thought gay people were being a bit overly sensitive when getting offended at it. I've since changed my mind. Clearly the use of the word gay to mean weak or lame is something gay people have a serious problem with and I don't see why any of us should continue using it if it means upsetting people and making them feel disrespected. I've since taken the word out of my vocabulary, unless I'm actually referring to a homosexual person.
