I live about thirty miles from Detroit right now.
Winter here gets cold for sure, but nothing like it does way up north. I went to college in Marquette, which is about eight hours from here on
Lake Superior.
Winter is such a beautiful, intense time up there. Any part of the state north of the 45th parallel (the loose line running between Alpena-Gaylord-Traverse City) is where I want to be this time of year. :-)
