I love pretty heels. Problem is, whenever I wear them, I end up looking stupidly tall. I'll wear them to the one formal occasion where every guy is small and every woman is wearing flats, and there's me in heels I don't really need, looking dumb... but I do love them. I mean, a really pretty pair of shoes does turn my head. But, since I don't wear heels all that often, they do kill my feet - so I love/hate them.
I agree with the bright colour thing. Until the age of 17 I was a "goth"-ish...thing. Then I chucked out my all-black/dark wardrobe and bought loads of prints and colours and girly things, and now I'm utterly shameless about liking colour. There's nothing wrong with it, and if one likes it and can pull it off, go with it. I recently wore an awesome but really rather bright dress to a party and was told by someone I didn't know that she envied "you mixed-raced dark-haired" folks because we can pull off brighter colours that she thought washed her out. Eh, talk about back-handed compliment, but as someone who wasted her teen years thinking she looked like a prat in coloured things, I actually slightly kind of maybe liked the idea that I can pull bright colours off. So yah, nothing wrong with 'em...
a.k.a The Dying Daylight in disguise, or Wino Horse... either way.
