I don't really have an opinion but I do have a story:
Grandma and Grandpa's 60th wedding anniversary, 2009. The day before, their oldest son (my uncle) informs them that they will be renewing their wedding vows the next day with him officiating. That was their anniversary present. They both HATED the idea but did it to appease their son. In retrospect, though, it was very sweet. Grandma died about 8 months later, and they had just recently fully moved into a new house following their old one burning down (which was incidentally one of the first topics I ever posted on BtN.)
My cousin and her husband renewed their vows on their 15th anniversary last year, as well.
