1) I recently discovered that I'm 5'4 and a half, not 5'3 and half. Somehow I 'grew' and it seems to be a family oddity - my brother grew three inches in his thirties. (And yes, I grew - I measured at 5'3 consistently until my physical last year.)
2) Yes, it is offensive. And it's tiresome to explain. I have a friend who has chosen to be childfree and she's constantly asked why she doesn't want kids and worse yet, tell her she's going to change her mind. We can't have kids and I hate when people ask questions like "Why don't you have kids?" and "When are you going to have kids?" and the worst - "Why don't you have kids yet?" The best reply I have ever heard was a couple who came up with the story that the guy lost his penis in a thresher accident.
3) I just started changing my life and not feeling entitled and growing up, so I can't really answer the question. I'm still guilty of it sometimes.
