Definitely live near school. I like my independence, and some times you need more access to school than just for your classes eg during exam times or when you have a heavy assignment load. The extra 1.5-2 hours travel each way would be a killer on top of all of that. And you get to go home every weekend, which sounds like loads to me (but take that as coming from someone who has been home twice in 3 years!)

Ireland, because it's the only one I haven't been to! Heading there for my birthday next month, and I can't wait. It looks GORGEOUS. Scotland is a great place to visit too. Wales is nice but not terribly exciting.
