1. Nature or nurture? Why?
- It's a mixture and interaction of the two.
2. Should you choose a college major based on getting a well-paying job or based on what you want to learn about? Why?
- I think it depends on what are you planning to do after school. If you're ridiculously rich or are 100% sure you'll get married and be a SAHM, then you have the luxury of studying what ever you want just for fun. If, however, you'll have to get a job for a living, you have to consider how much a job will pay, too.
The thing is, when I was 18 and much of an idealist, I was thinking "Ok, my chosen career doesn't pay much, but it doesn't matter because this is what I'm passionate about!". Well, I'm 29 now, and while I still like what I do, a good portion of the passion is gone, and it really sucks that I can't afford to have a bigger flat, travel more or buy anything I want.
