Comments for AJAX:
This would be an awful name for a child. 'Ajax Spray and Wipe' the cleaning label.-- namefanatic 9/3/2005
This is a stupid name for a child. Hello, it's the cleaning stuff I use to clean my bathtub.-- Anonymous User 9/5/2005
It's alright for a character, but naming a child after a cleaning product would be as stupid as naming your dog Comet (like what Danny Tanner named the golden retriever on Full House).-- Tbird 9/8/2005
This name is rather harsh and crude, though it fits the described character well. It might work well as a character name in a book, or something of the like. However, I still wonder why anyone would name a cleaning product after a person in Greek mythology.-- avalah 5/5/2006
Personally, I would never name a child Ajax, but the actual Greek version of the name, Aias (Eye-yas), isn't so bad.-- kateyvic 6/28/2006
I love this name and would totally consider using this name.-- maggie_angel 5/19/2007
Ajax was a champion Australian racehorse of the 1930s.-- LMS 8/5/2007
FC Ajax is one of the most succesful soccer clubs in the Netherlands. I support Ajax myself but I would never consider this for a child. People here would either associate it with the soccer club and think you're an obsessive fan of with the cleaning brand. It's a shame because I don't even think it's that bad of a name.-- renee06 9/5/2007
Using any brand names as names for people is extremely tacky. Even if this wasn't one of those, it rather comes across as one of those silly pseudonyms some ridiculous middle-aged guy anxious in his masculinity would use.-- slight night shiver 4/19/2008
Ajax is an elderly archer from the Mythadventures of Aahz and Skeeve, a humourous fantasy book series by Robert Asprin.-- quillpaw93 6/20/2008
If this hadn't been used as the name for a product, I would have used it. It's short, masculine & distinctive, I think it'd be pretty cool to be named after a warrior in mythology. Pity about the spray & wipe - just kills it!-- lilmissodd 8/14/2008
I have a dog named Ajax. I pronounce it eye-axe.
He is a harlequin great dane and people tell me quite frequently that the name suits him very well.-- Theodore-Lenin 11/10/2008
Ajax is also the name of a major soccer club in The Netherlands, namely that of Amsterdam.-- lrigD 4/15/2009
