Comments for ALEKSANDER:
The traditional pet form for Aleksander is Olek - perhaps influencerd by the Ukrainian variant (Oleksandr). Nonetheless, a more modern pet form is Aleks, which is most likely influenced by the English short form Alex.-- ADT 6/19/2006
This name is also VERY common in Norway, so I guess it its also a Scandinavian name. [noted -ed]-- Anonymous User 10/29/2008
