I'm really surprised no one else has commented about this (in my opinion) really lovely name. It has the "n" ending that so many people like these days, AND a real, classic history.

A variant of this name could be Alpine, despite being a word. I prefer Alpine, and since it could be a variant, the name could mean white too.
