Anath is also a modern name for girls, a reminiscence of the old Canaanite goddess Anath, and is usually pronounced as Anat. It is not used nowadays for boys.

Anat (ah-naht) is very fashionable on girls among Jews. It means "little answer" and is of course not given by Jews to honour the goddess of the same name.
