Famous bearer is Andromeda (Black) Tonks, mother of Nimphadora Tonks, on Harry Potter.

In the book 'My Sister's Keeper' the main character had this name and was called Ana for short.

There is a galaxy named after Andromeda, very close to our own, and a subject of extensive observation by astronomers due to its having similar properties to the Milky Way. This galaxy can also be easily seen with the naked eye.

The above stated galaxy can actually be seen in the contellation Orion.

I think this name is very beautiful, and definitely not overused.

I think that there's some sci-fi TV show called Andromeda. I believe that it's something like Star Trek. That's what I think of everytime I hear the word Andromeda.

This name is AWESOME. There's a ton of ways you can pronounce it, and each way is beautiful. Plus, the nickname can be Andy. Don't see a lot of girls with the nickname Andy, do ya now? :D

I love the Andromeda! I know a married couple whose names are Andrea and Andrew, and I totally think they should name their daughter (if they ever have one) Andromeda. Keeping with the Andr theme! Andromeda is awesome!

Both Andrea and Andrew come from the Greek word "Andro" meaning "man."

Andromeda is my second middle name, I love it. The Greek myth with Perseus and Andromeda is one of my favourite. I go by "Andie" as a nickname rather than my first name as I love my middle name so much.

This would be a really cool name to use, but I'm afraid it's a bit too strange and ''big'', if you get my drift. It could work as a somewhat unconventional middle name, though, and it can always be shortened to Andie.

Andromeda is one of the most beautiful names I have ever heard.

I can't help but feel this name is a bit stupid. Maybe it's because of the brainless science fiction series of the same name.
