I LOVE this name. I named my second daughter Asha in 2001. The name is very old and to me, sounds strong and independent. From the Sanskrit language meaning 'hope'.

Asha is also a North African name; It means "Life" in Swahili.

I like the name Asha as it is not very common but it is very pretty. I only know one Asha who is one of triplet girls.

I'm thinking this name has something to do with the name Aisha, maybe the Middle Easterns, when they came to Africa. [noted -ed]

I love this name too, if have a daughter in the future I will call her Asha with a middle name of Lily. I think this is beautiful. I am considering also calling a boy Asha.

I love this name, I named my baby Asha Lily, and would have named her if she was a boy Asher. Beautiful classy name!
