Audrey experienced a big period of unpopularity because of it's tawdry history. Fact. I don't blame some people for still finding it unsavoury. It did help spawn the word tawdry. The "oar" sound is unpleasant to the ear too.

There's a girl in my choir class that calls me Audrey. My name is Kelsey. She says that I look like an Audrey and that she always has to think before she says my name. So, I told her to just call me Audrey. :)

I think this name is nice, though. Reminds me of Audrey Hepburn so I automatically think of people named Audrey being actresses.

As much as I like Audrey Hepburn, to me, this name is hideously old-fashioned. I don't know any Audreys below age sixty. No decent nicknames, and come on, can you image a three-year-old kid called Audrey? It's a grandmother name.
