Most of the Brians I've met in my time had red hair. Funny how things work like that sometimes.-- Anonymous User 2/14/2007
*sighs, exasperated* No, things don't work out like that. I've never met a Brian with red hair. I don't really like this name much.-- Bellula 7/30/2007

I found this website that lists Bible verses in association with each name. The actual denotation of each name is nowhere near as accurate as BTN, but I thought the verse thing was cool. Verse for Brian is Psalm 49:3. See result by searching for Brian at http://www.homesteaddesigns.com/name_meaning_search.htm or, for an easier translation of the Bible verse, search for Psalm 49 on http://www.biblegateway.com.-- a_lovers_charm 7/19/2007

This name is borne by English actor Brian Capron (born February 11, 1947). He is best known for his role as serial killer Richard Hillman in the British soap opera "Coronation Street" from 2001 to 2003. He also starred as Jerry McKenzie on the British soap opera "EastEnders" from 1993 to 1994.-- AndrewJKD 4/1/2008
This name seemed to be popular some time ago, but it has faded out of popularity, apparently. The only Brians I know are both grownups. If I ever have kids, I might name a boy Brian, because of Brian May from Queen and my grandfather, whose name is Brian. At first I couldn't imagine calling a kid Brian, but now I can somewhat. It sounds nice.-- Pippin 4/19/2008
You can't really go wrong with this name. I can imagine this name on pretty much every sort of guy, including the fat and ugly ones. The name seems suitable for different races as well. It's a nice enough name that shouldn't lead to bullying or discrimination, and it ages well, but it is also hideosly common and totally overused, and has been for a long time. I have a feeling this might just be one of those names that unloving parents have lazily picked for their son. I associate the name with mostly decent people, like Brian Eno, whose 70s and 80s ambient music I love. Of course, this does also remind me of Brian Warner, better known as Marilyn Manson, who I have always considered a jerk. But well, there are plenty of Brians out there.-- slight night shiver 5/17/2008
