Comments for CASEY:

A variant of Casey could be spelled "Cayce".
-- trayc53  4/17/2005
A nice, non-horrifying, feminine form would be Kaci. I also like Casie, or Kacy.

Personaly, I think that the name Casey is one of the cutest names there is! Some people think that it should be spelled different, but in my eyes this is the best way. Even when the Casey has grown up, this name will still be appropriate!
-- LILKC_09  9/4/2005
You can spell it Casie, Cassy and Cassy. It is short for Charis. A beautiful name if I may say so myself.
-- charis  10/27/2005
Another spelling of this name is Casi. This is used for the feminine gender.

A common short form is Case.

I have always felt that Casey was a bit feminine for a boy even though it has been used more for boys. Not a bad name though.
-- Anonymous User  4/25/2006
One of my exes was named Casey, but he spelled it KC. I thought that was rather cheesy, since the original name is great to begin with, and the letters didn't even stand for anything.
-- Anonymous User  6/11/2006
I have always liked the name Casey and do prefer it for a girl. I also like the spelling Kacey but I would use the spelling Casey for ease of spelling.
-- Anonymous User  6/13/2006
Can also be spelled Casy. Celtic origin, not English. I have also heard it was a shortened form of Acacia.
-- Casy  7/2/2006
My best friend's name is Kacie. It can also be spelled Kaci, Casi, Kayce, Cayce, Casea, Kasea, Kaycee, Caysee, Caysea, Kaysea. There are about 50 someodd ways to spell it, we actually did one time. (:

"Casey at Bat" and Casey's General Stores bear this name.
-- Anonymous User  7/20/2006
I think that this name sounds too feminine for a boy, yet too masculine for a girl. That said, it is a rather cute name.
-- Anonymous User  7/20/2006
I really really like this name! It is great for both male and female.
-- amber monkey  8/20/2006
I have always liked this name but still can't decide on boy or girl, I kind of lean towards a girl name.

Speedy girl on our swim team. Very athletic name.

My distant cousin's name is Kaci (born in 1990). She is named for her Aunt Kay (Ka) and her grandmother Cindy (ci). I was very interested to learn that one!
-- Pheadirean  11/2/2006
Though I have a female cousin who bears the name Casey I prefer it for male.
The cutesy spellings like Kaci, Kacie, etc. are all horrible versions of the name.
-- Missy  11/15/2006
Casey is one of my favourite names, but I find it ruined by all of the kreatyve spellings! Maybe it's just me, but I hate when people think that it's /different/ to spell their name Kaci, or Casea. It's the same name, and it's not unique at all!
-- bobcat_explorer  12/30/2006
It seems more like a boy name to me than a girl name.
-- Anonymous User  1/23/2007
I think the NASCAR driver Casey Kaine spells his name this way, but I'm not sure since there are so many ways to spell Casey.
-- Anonymous User  8/31/2007
I love this name! My friend's name is Casey and he is a boy. And since I am a girl, and I say Casey's my friend, people usually think Casey's a girl. I really don't like this name at all for a girl's name. It is a beautiful boy's name, though! :D
-- libbygirl  1/19/2008
I know several Caseys, and I prefer it for a girl rather than a boy. I also like this spelling of Casey rather than 'Kasey' or 'Kacey', which I have seen a few times.
-- Miss-Rory  2/23/2008
Repeatedly the name Casey is referenced as a surname that loosely means "courage". The family crest for this name involves the image of a lion or three lions, furthering the perception of strength in the meaning of this name.
-- onemommy  4/9/2008
My name is Casey and people don't seem to know how to spell it or say it, they always ask how to spell it and I often get called Cassie.
-- anon2210  4/14/2008
This name is rubbish on men and women alike, so I wouldn't name my child this. On little boys, it sounds okay. On men, it sounds like the name of a guy who remains on the level of an annoying, sexist, immature frat boy way until his forties. On women, it sounds absolutely ridiculous. The name is too youthful, and too masculine for women.
-- slight night shiver  4/20/2008
My name is Casey and I am female. I didn't used to like my name being it was very uncommon and those who had it were boys. Now, in my late 20's, I love my name because it is still uncommon and a little bit different. And, I just think it is a cute name. And, most of all, I love that I spell it, in it's original form, CASEY.
-- harlow.moon  4/28/2008
I've always liked Kaci for a girl, and Casey for a boy (call him either Casey or Case). I think I've always leaned more towards Casey for a boy since I first saw Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as a little girl, and developed my first ever "crush" on Casey Jones!
-- erb816  6/26/2008
I prefer Casey/Case as a boy's proper name. I just love that name!
-- La Reina  9/6/2008
The 2007 (and current) MotoGP world champ is Casey Stoner, a fantastic rider. His alternate nicknames are C.S., Case, or even Crashy Stoner!

Casey Novak is a character on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, portrayed by Diane Neal.
-- dollrock  1/8/2009
Definitely prefer it as a boy name. It's so sweet. The only girl I know of who is named Casey is the character that Spencer Grammar plays on "Greek."
-- meggsxx3  4/20/2009
I can't say I love the feminine version of Casey as much as I like the male version of Casey. ( I'm sorry, I've just met a lot of not-so-nice girls named Casey. It's left a bad taste in my mouth.) There's just a mouth-watering image I imagine when I think of a guy named Casey.
