Emmanuel is the middle name for my son, Reese Emmanuel. Personally, I would have liked to use it as a first name; however, I was outvoted by everyone else. I was troubled and on drugs before I got pregnant and when I found out I was, I knew it was a sign from God that everything would be okay. In the bible, God tells a woman to name her baby Emmanuel to show everyone that things will be okay. I really enjoy biblical names. I believe all babies shoul be named with a reason and purpose. Don't just name your baby something because it sounds good. Give them definition.

I love this name for what it is, and its meaning. I really love it because it's in reference to Jesus Christ. I really love the Christmas Carol "O Come O Come Emmanuel". I would use it as a middle name.

Emmanuel (spelt as Emanuel I think) Ravelli is one of the characters played by Chico Marx in "Animal Crackers." I've always liked this name, especially its meaning "God is with us." One of my favorite masculine names, it has a strong feel to it. A very nice name.

Emmanuel is not part of the prophecy of the Messiah - it's part of a prophecy for King Ahaz that God was with His people who were about to be invaded by two rival kingdoms, and this prophecy was fullfilled in 2 Kings 16:9 after being given in Isaiah Chapter 7.

My School is called Emmanuel College (In Gateshead, England) and we are a Christian Ethos School and have 2 lessons of RE a week nd often go on field trips to churches and things.
