Eugenie Victoria was the real name of Scarlett and Rhett's daughter in Gone With the Wind, who was referred to as Bonnie Blue (Bonnie) because of the color of her eyes.

A famous bearer is Eugenie Niarchos. She is the heir to a Greek shipping fortune. Her brother is Stavros Niarchos, famous for dating Paris Hilton and Mary-Kate Olsen. Eugenie is friends with Charlotte Casiraghi; and is often seen in the company of other European royals, heirs, and socialites.

Another famous Eugenie is Princess Eugenie of York. This name seems to be quite popular with the posh European social set!

A cool, spunky name that I didn't like at first, but it grew on me. In English, though, it's spelled without the accent mark and pronounced YOO-geen-ie.

I've always heard Eugenie pronounced "yoo-JAYN-ee" in English.

Hmm. I've always heard it as yoo-GEEN-ee (I stressed the wrong syllable in my other comment.) I like it pronounced either way, though. =)

A very sweet name with a great meaning, and not overused.

I think this is a simply truly splendidly lovely name. :)

This name is incredibly beautiful, though I prefer Eugenia. The French empress Eugénie was gorgeous, and so is the British princess. I hope that French people use lovely names like this more and forget about foreign names.
