Comments for HELLA:

Giving a child this name would be hella mean.
-- Maggiecc  8/4/2006
Sounds like hell with an A.
-- bellaboo  11/2/2006
Hella is the name of a character in Mikhail Bulgakov's The Master and Margarita.
-- podolski_fan2  1/27/2007
Would have a hella vah time in middle school.
-- Keeper76  8/14/2007
Well, I guess it would depend where it's used. It could be okay in some other country, but in the United States, if you had this name, you WILL be bothered. And the way the US schools are now, you will be completely miserable.

I do not suggest this name in the United States. (I'm not being racist, because I am a US citizen, and I'm in middle school, so yeah)

Someone with this name will have a hella bad time throughout school.
-- bananarama  11/25/2008
In German it's pronounced HE-lah. [noted -ed]
-- mafiosa  8/7/2009
In Santa rosa its super common to just say "Hella cool!" or whatever. But Its ok as a nickname for Helena

Comments for HELLÄ:

Good meaning and good sound. I like it.
-- pocho-mole  3/17/2007
Hell with Ä at the end. A child with this name might be teased.
-- -Julia-  7/23/2009
I think it's a bit much to just presume that a child would be teased for having this name. I'm sure you're aware it is primarily used in non-English speaking countries?
-- vomiting  7/24/2009
Yes, I am aware of that. But when a kid with that name is in a country where the first four letters in this name mean a word that you wouldn't want to be named after, then that's a problem.

But when the first four letters don't mean any bad words, then it's a good name.
