Jacinta Marto was one of the children who reported witnessing three apparitions of an angel in 1916 and several apparitions of the Virgin Mary in 1917, in Fátima, Portugal (along with her brother Francisco Marto and cousin Lúcia Santos).

On May 13, 2000, Jacinta and Francisco were beatified and declared "blessed" in a decree from the Congregation for the Causes of Saints. Jacinta is the youngest non-martyred child ever to be beatified.
