Comments for JON (1):

The only boy I knew grewing up with this name did not pronounce this like John, it was more like Joon, so I used to think of it as a separate name, but have now met Johns who just spell it this way.

It's a better spelling and seems almost unique compared to the boring John spelling.

I think this name is a newer form of John, and I like it a lot better. Every John that I know, has told me that when he or she (I have met one little girl named Jon Grace, but I wouldn't name my daughter Jon), has always misspelled their name when they were little. They spelled it Jonh, or Jon, simply because you don't even hear the H sound in the name, and it was hard for them to remember to put it in when they couldn't hear it. So I prefer Jon.

Jon of Jon & Kate plus 8. His name is short for Jonathan. One of their sons (I believe it's Aaden) his name is Aaden Jonathan Gosselins, after his dad.

In Garfield "the comic strip" Jon is the owner of Garfield and Odie. Garfield calls Jon his food-fixer and litterbox-cleaner.

I'm very much surprised that nobody's said anything about Jon Anderson, of the progressive rock band Yes! He's a rather famous bearer of this name, and when I think of the name Jon (as spelled without an H), I usually think of him.
-- Pippin  7/8/2008
Jon looks boring and incomplete without the H, and it makes me think of Jon Gosselin.
