Comments for KÁJA:

Kaja is not a given name. If someone's name is Karel (m), Karolina (f) or Karla so you can call him/her Kaja.

Kaja is also a pet name of Kajetana. My Czech mother is called Kajetana and she passed her name onto myself, I am Slovakian. It is a very uncommon name and I believe it is derived from the Italian name Gaetano. He was made a saint and our name day is therefore celebrated on 10th August according to the Catholic Calendar. It is pronounced to rhyme with "Hiya".

One word: ugly. For Central Europe residents: just think of Kája Gott (Czech pop singer) before you curse your child with this abomination of a name. Yes, and Anonymous is right, Kája is not an official name, just a pet name.

I don't like this name. Probably because I know a really mean girl with the name. It also sounds funny. My mom and I have a joke that goes like this "I gotcha Kaja!" A name you should NEVER name you child.

I live in Sweden but I've never met anyone with this name. In fact there is only 88 women named this in Sweden. I haven't heard of anyone named Kaja who is from Scandinavia.

Comments for KAJA (2):

As a pet form of Karolina, Kaja has only been used in Poland within the last 20 years (or less). Thus, it's fairly modern.
