Comments for KALEIGH:

Its usage is also Irish, Celtic.

Kaleigh also means a sort of party. When I went to Prince Edward Island I saw a sign that said my name and I realised underneath it said it was a type of party (not a party for Kaleigh).

I named my daughter Kaleigh in 1969 thinking I had devised this name on my own. She has yet to meet a "Kaleigh" older than her. There has been only one other Kaleigh about her age that we know of, a Canadian, and that Kaleigh was a male. I still like to think I originated this name. Obviously, it has become a popular name.

When we researched this name for our daughter the Kaylee phase had not hit the baby name books. Kaleigh was in the books at that time as Sanskrit in origin, meaning "energy", and it is pronounced Ku-lee.

It's just a pretentious spelling of a dull, unimaginative, and a far too girly and infantile name.

Everyone I know pronounces it Call-ee not KAY-lee.
