Could be just a coincidence, because Finland isn't anywhere near Lithuania, but thought I'd mention it, just in case: "Lauma" is a Finnish word meaning "herd", "flock", "pack".
In Latvian mythology, Lauma is actually a low evil spirit of the forest.
