Comments for LUCINE:
I thought that it was a variation of Lucia.-- Dahlis 1/17/2006
I don't think that it is from "American" at all. This name is from the word "moon". I don't see any resemblance to Lucine and moon. It's most likely from Latin (Luna) or at least French (Lune).-- Aendre 4/24/2006
Do you mean it does not seem "Armenian"? I agree, it probably was a variant of Luna. A very, very pretty name.-- websurfer 5/8/2006
Um, well, I'm 1/2 Armenian and I can tell you for a fact that Lucine IS the Armenian word for "moon" or "moonlight". I believe the two are very similar sounding.-- Amanda Joy 7/16/2006
I think this name is beautiful. I like it better than Lucille (the two sounding very similar, though Lucille is more common).-- Anonymous User 5/24/2008
