I read a book recently, "The Shinning Company", by Rosemary Sutcliffe, in which "Luned" is a main character. In the novel, it is pronounced "Lynn-Id".

In Welsh, 'u' is pronounced as an English 'ee' or 'i' ('i' as in ink, not i like eye).
