Comments for YEJIDE:
We used to believe the souls of our parents were reborn in their decendants. The word yejide comes from three words, Iya = mother, ji = wake, de = arrive. Yejide means literally "our mother has come back from the dead" which is why we only call girls Yejide. Boys are called Babajide.-- yinka 6/1/2005
No offense to anyone, but Yorban names have strange meanings. Almost like sentences.-- Anonymous User 9/29/2007
