I would like to add there is another meaning for the word Zan beside "praise or support". It is "passionate light" and "well fed".

There are multiple meanings for names in Chinese. It all depends on how you are to pronounce it. Then again even with the pronunciation, there are many meanings.

I love this name but I prefer it spelled Xan, and for a girl mostly (or boy). I think the meaning of it is wonderful.
