The
Celtic languages are any of the related
Indo-European languages that were spoken by the Celtic peoples who inhabited Europe. The modern Celtic tongues are only spoken in western Europe and can be grouped into two branches:
Goidelic (
Irish and
Scottish) and
Brythonic (
Welsh and
Breton).
