It should be noted that all
names had to invented at one point. Normally, the term
invented name refers to one of the following.
- Names that have been recently created by combining letters and syllables for a pleasing sound.
- Names based on vocabulary words that have not been traditionally used as names.
- Names created by authors, possibly even with invented etymologies (see Tolkien).
