Aapo is also a name given by Estonians.
I think that Aapo is incredibly handsome. It is clear, distinct, durable, and one that seems like it would grow well with the bearer.
Different, that's for sure. However, if its pronunciation is Ape-o, don't use it. That's not very pleasant.
Aapo is pronounced AAH-poh, not APE-o. Did it occur to any of you previous commentators that Finnish names might not be pronounced the same way English names are pronounced? Or that not everyone on this site is from an English-speaking country where a name like this might be too foreign, for that matter.
Aapo was a 1994 Finnish film directed by Tero Jartti and based on a short story by Runar Schildt.
How the heck do you pronounce this name? It looks like Ape-O, and if that's the case then I think it's a disgusting name. It makes me think of a nickname my mother had as a child.
Why is it that nobody comments on Finnish names? They have so much energy and sound so cool. I really like Aapo in particular.
