Abihu (Avihu, in Hebrew) and his brother, Nadab (Nadav, in Hebrew) were killed in the desert 'by the wrath of God' - that is, divine fire - after having touched the Ark of the Covenant, when the bearers stumbled and they tried to avoid its fall.
