A bubbling drop of green in a pool of rose gold... blending and dissolving into marble swirls... mythical beings over a foggy horizon... this name feels so elaborate, like it's something out of a fantasy novel, yet simple enough that a human child could proudly bear it. Acantha's gentle beauty touches the soul.
When I first came upon this name, I fell in love with it but was deterred by negative comments. The meaning 'thorn' isn't bad at all: if you're anything like a flower, you are pure and innocent, but you have flaws, just like everyone else. I think Acantha is a wonderful name.
It reminds me of Agatha.
It’s unusual and glamorous. I like it.
Very glamorous name.
It's a bit harsh sounding but I do like the history behind it, overall it's a nice name.
This reminds me too much of acanthamoeba, which is a parasite that attacks the eyes. I do like the sound of the name though.
Beautiful, with a bit of a Gothic edge to it. Definitely a name that requires a certain type of personality to pull off.
If I have a baby girl of my own, I think it's a nice name for her too. I love this name. It's so soft and cute.
The first time I saw this time, I was crazy about it. It's a few years ago now, and maybe, just maybe I want to give my child this name when I once get a girl.
It is such a lovely name.
This is a good name for a character in a fantasy story.
