I like it.
The meaning is kinda funny, but the name itself is pretty.
Aina entered the Japanese top 10 as 愛菜 in 2011 and 2013.
It sounds like hyena.
For people who might be confused about the literal meaning, I don't think the name is meant to be perceived as "a child loving vegetables". I thought it would be more like "Love and Vegetables", meaning you want your daughter to turn out to be a nice cook. That's just what I think about, with the posted kanji on the site.
Aina was last given to 9 girls in America in 2015, possibly because of Japanese descent.
It's AHY-nah, not ah-EE-nah.
Very soft and feminine sounding; I picture a girl who can draw beautiful pictures sitting under a cherry blossom tree.
This name is nice, but I find the meaning of "love vegetables" to be funny. I know the kanji can mean other things besides that, though.
Not super-common. I've only ever met 1 Aina and her kanji was 愛名, so it was love and name. All depends which kanji are chosen what it winds up meaning. Multiple possibilities.
Aina in Hawaiian also means "land".
Hashimoto Aina is a famous bearer of this name. She is a member of the all-female Japanese group, THE POSSIBLE.
