User comments for Alicia (Meaning / History Only)

Also an ancient Greek name, feminine of Alicios (Alisios).

Alicia is also the French romanticized version of Alice and due to this is traditionally pronounced A-liss-E-uh as the stem of the name is Alice and not Alish. The name also stems from the ancient Greek 'truth'.

This name derives from many cultures. Teutonic (old German), Greek, Old English, as well as Spanish.

This is my name but my name is spelled Alysia and I like how it's spelled because you don't see a spelling of Alysia like this everyday.
