Alun

I was fascinated to read about the Breton origin of the name Alan. My parents spelled my name Allan and always told me that it was the preferred Scottish spelling of the Welsh Alun. They also told me it means "harmony" in Welsh. So I did a bit of surfing, and found the following information:
