There is a Ukrainian popstar called Alyosha, even though this person is female. She was in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010, and sang the song called 'Sweet People'.
This is the name of the main character in Leo Tolstoy's "Alyosha the Pot".
To clarify: the LYO does NOT sound like the LE in LEARN. It sounds like how it's spelled. Pronounce YO as if you were a New Yorker saying New YOrk; the vowel [o] is actually more like the [ɔ] vowel sound.
