Amilcare Ponchielli (1834-1886) was an Italian composer, largely of operas. The most famous (indeed, the only one regularly performed today) is La Gioconda, which contains the famous Dance of the Hours.
As always, "A" is pronounced as the "A" in "Father." "I" is stressed into "EE." A "C" before an "A" creates a hard "K" sound. Remember to roll your "R"s. "E" is pronounced much like a soft "Aye," or otherwise an "Eh."
