I like this name, because it sounds very powerful, yet gently. Its meaning/history emphasizes this (a God of the wind and the air). I would consider naming my son Amon - if I ever get one.

I'm usually not one for naming children after a deity regardless of origin. However, this name really speaks to me. I would consider naming my child Amon.

Ammon (Hammon) was a Libyan deity, worshipped at Rome under the name of Jupiter Ammon.
From the first time I heard this name I was in love with it. It's so unique yet it sounds familiar. If I ever have a son part of his name is probably going to be Amon. Whether it be the first or middle name I don't know yet (I'm only 14)!
Amun/Amon was one of the gods to whom the Temple of Karnak in Thebes (today, the largest temple complex in the world), was built for by the Middle and New Kingdom pharaohs.
I think this name is cool. :) But, no, this is not the name of a character in the Twilight Saga. His name is spelled Amun, not Amon.

The season one villain in the series The Legend of Korra is known as Amon, though that isn't his real name. This name reminds me of him as well as Amon Goeth of Schindler's List (and real life) fame, so not many positive impressions from this name.
