Scripts Αμφιάνασσα(Ancient Greek)

Meaning & History

Apparently derived from Greek αμφι (amphi) meaning "around, on both sides" (compare Amphitrite) and ανασσα (anassa) meaning "queen, lady" (used as a term of address for goddesses). According to some Greek legends, Amphianassa was the mother of Anthea by Proetus, a king of Argos.
