This is a very strong and sophisticated sounding name. I really like it. I think it would be a great boy's name as it is also uncommon.
In almost every language, including mine, Ananas means pineapple and you cannot unsee the connection. English speakers should have no problems with the name, but yeah.
Ugh. Looks and sounds awful.
I'm not keen on this name, since it sounds like the word for pineapple in many languages, such as Polish. I can't see it as a name.
This would be a good name for a boy used to honor a woman named Anne or Anna. Anne is graceful or gracious and Ananias means God is gracious. Also a unique option for those who like names like Jonas, Elias, or Linus.
I'm surprised that this name is not popular, considering the trendiness of biblical names for boys. I like this name a lot. It sounds sophisticated.
If pronounced, ah-naw-nee-us, sounds like "anonymous" -- which would be at cross-purposes with actually naming a child!
