I've always loved the name Angelica. It carries so much beauty and strength, and it sounds charmingly ethereal. I love the meaning, and I also like that it ages with flawless grace. Overall, I think Angelica is a gorgeous name.

Angelica is pronounced "ahn-hel-ee-ka" by my hispanic family and "an-jel-ih-cuhh" by every other person. Anjelica, Anjelika, Angelika, Angelina, are all subpar variations. Of course, no hate to those with those names. Bet y'all are lovely. Or maybe not lovely. I'll never know. I used to get bombarded by people saying "Angelica, Eliiiza and Peggy!" to me all the time due to the Hamilton play.

I've never seen The Rugrats, so I don't associate Angelica's name with that series. I think, as the name says, it is feminine, angelic and delicate, and you can get good nicknames from this name, like Annie, Angie, Jellie, Gigi, Ange, Angela, Angel, Ellie or Lili. If you don't like Angelica, you can also find other versions like Angelina, Angelique or Angela. Charming.

I like this name a lot and contrary to what has been commented below, the association that is implied by some to remind them of an animated character from so long ago is just silly. I think this name is quite lovely and I have met many bearers of this name who have done a great service to it. Angelica is very easy to say and it does have a sweet sound, at least from my point of view, that I would recommend it for anyone that sees it from a similar stand point as I do. I hate the name Angelica so much. It reminds me of an annoying bossy little girl. Angelica is like another name for angel which makes that person named Angelica think highly of themselves just because they're part "angel" or whatever. And it just reminds me of the Rugrats character Angelica which is a very bratty little girl.

Well, it means "Angel-like" which makes sense. Much like Angel, the vampire from the hit 90s TV show Buffy the vampire Slayer, I too wear dark colors, stay up all night, hate socializing, and have a kind of scary dark side that I bury deep down and only comes out when I'm at my happiest.

It's a shame that this name was ruined for so many people by "Rugrats." I mean, I am INFATUATED with that cartoon, but I do recommend using this name one day because that factor contributes to the name's rarity. My godmother was named Angelica, but I never knew that until after she had passed away (everybody called her by a nickname that became her given name and had no relation to her first name). Her mother saw the name in a book and thought it was so beautiful, however, she wasn't aware of the usual pronunciation. And so, my godmother's name was pronounced "an-JEL-ICE-ə". Strangely enough, I feel that this softens out a somewhat harsh sounding name.
